The controversy is about who's going to nationals. Chico and GSW are posted on fastplastic to be going, but the problem is there was never a playoff. We had confirmed our spot in regionals early in the week and even checked the day before it was suppossed to happen to make sure it was still on and were told yes. Mike called my brother's (sodomizer) wife friday night and said the playoffs were cancelled and never going to be made up because someone was moving out of state. We later received an email saying it was cancelled because the mariners had a family emergency. We were told chico couldn't afford to make the trip to TX so I figured he'd call everyone that played to see if anyone could make a later playoff because that's what is supposed to happen or that's what other regions do at least. Instead they just decided to take Chico and GSW for the second year in a row without giving anyone else who qualified a chance to play. That's the controversy. We feel we were screwed out of our chance at the autobid. At this point we have no further interest in going to San Jose in future years because it isn't worth the money if this is going to be the outcome at the end of the year.
That's pretty f'd up. I'm sure we would have gotten RUN but it would have been nice to try. One team that played us called Plastic Giants would have actually had a shot at them in a one day playoff. Pretty weak.
