104! Yikes. Hope you are feeling better. You old buggers (bwhahahahahaaa) got to take better care of yourselves...
Good picture.
We should start a collection of depot pictures as part of a living history of the The Regiment. I wish I still had mine, Italy Platoon, 1977. Bernie Irvine was the course warrant and he looks nothing like he did when he joined up. Kind of neat to see, as a Royal from another era, what people in leadership roles in our time looked like when they first joined The Regiment.

Hi Mike
You know, it's funny, take anyone, put him in the Army at 17 yrs old and he looks like the rest of recruits. The old saying "faces all look the same doesn't matter what year" is true.

Truer words never spoken, Jim. Perhaps it's that certain quality in our spirit that drew us all together beneath the 8 pointed star...
Anyone else got their depot picture handy?

Roger that, Jim. Let me know if you require any assistance. I would be particularly interested in Italy Platoon, 1977. Buzz Girden, may he rest in peace, was the RSM at the time. Those were the days t be in London and, while not yet completed depot, the course was located at BB5 during the ninety-fifth... You may recall the 1st did the four count in drill in those days and spit shined our combat boots. Man, we looked goooooood!

Hi Mike
I will surely let you know if I need help. I was just getting back from CFB Chilliwack in 1977 and I missed being on Pde but I seemed to make it up. I was posted to B Coy, 5 Pl as Pl Comd and I had one hell of a good time til they figured they needed someone as UEO and away I went. Gord Jardine and me were loaded on a UEO DZ Course and I topped it and got the job. It was interesting that Gord and me were the only NCM's on course. Gord came 2nd on the course. After that I was posted to Sigs Pl as Pl WO and RECCE Pl for the rest of the year. then I was told I was CSM for B Coy. Imagine that, back to B Coy and Pde after Pde and I had 4 OC in my time. All to say I started as a Pte in B Coy in Ipperwash and finished my time in Wolseley Barracks as CSM in 1982 in B Coy. You know the rest!!
