Oh I remember Randy, in fact I remember just about every name mentioned.. B.J. Maclean got me through Cornwallis in '80, Dick Connors was my roommate and CWO ("more work on those uppers") Hickson always had a boot very close to my backside in B Coy..lol...I escaped that boot when B coy disbanded after RV81 and was in ADP E Coy until posted to 3RCR in '82. When 3RCR repatted to the 'Peg, I went to 3CDO Airborne til opting for civvies in '86. I live in Toronto and am a Communications tech. I still maintain close friendships with a quite a few Royals, mainly from 3CDO and 2nd & 3rd RCR. However have run into the likes of Pete Kolody (10yrs ago he was working the door at a club), Grant Gervais (OPP Officer last I heard) from 1RCR. In fact, I run into the boys walking down the street, sitting on a bar patio and sitting at a red light. Small world, indeed. I would really like to track down Danny Smith, also from ADP E Coy (Randy I KNOW you remember Smitty!).
Thanks to Gene Russo (3RCR ADP) for sending me this link. I'll drop in again..All the best to all .
PS. As mentioned earlier I was in ADP E coy...My platoon commander from TQ3 -B Coy and then ADP was Brent Beardsley. If Brent is reading this I would like to express my pride in serving under you. Your courage and leadership was greatly expressed in the documentary "Shaking Hands with the Devil" , by Peter Raymont. To those unaware, the documentary is about General Dallaire in Rwanda. Rent it, buy it, but definitely see it!

B.J. Hope to see you at the next Regimental birthday bash, so I can thank you personally. recall you replaced Brian Burke during my basic training . I had submitted a release request along with about 4 or 5 other recruits. You came to the barracks on your own time (you were in civvies and off duty), called me into the office downstairs and convinced me to revoke the request. My military years were the the best years of my life..You deserve credit for that.

Hi Randy,I remember goin to Norway in 84.I was going on a C-130 with two 5/4 tons. One of our guys couldn't make the flight,so you came up in the rotation.Only problem was you were already tying one on in the Trenton Jr Ranks. Our flight was delayed due michanical problems,so yo used your initiative and had someone bring several bottles of vino, which we all got into in the washroom at CFB Trenton. When we finally got on the plane, your eyes were doing a camelion. The load-master took one look at you and in a thick french-cdn accent siad..."this man is DRUNK!..GET HIM OFF THE PLANE!"Moody was trying to say it was all the fumes,as you puked all over the Herc and yourself,LOL.Hope to see you in Kingston in better shape.Cheers.

Hello Quazzi and fellow Royals. Sure is good to hear from old friends!! Hope to make it to the reunion as I would love to see my fellow comrades. If it's anything like the 100th it'll be great.
And then there's the green Gremlin!! Haha!! Burned more oil than gas. I do have first hand experience with that piece. I offered my life to Randy one day and decided to let him drive me from London to Cedar Springs and back. Ended up in the rubarb a few times (literally). How in the hell did we ever survive those days I do not know. Of course for all of you that know Randy, and for those that had the pleasure of chumming with him (as I) you would know this to be true.
You're a true friend Randy...Thanks for the memories and the many more to come.
I'll be in touch.....Grant
