Hi Jim, had Wally Turple as a CSM in D Coy he was one of the best. I also remember the day they took the picture and did the story on him.

Spent the summer of the 100th reunion working for RSM Turple in Ipperwash.

Was perhaps the best summer of my entire career.

Hi Jim.

RSM, WALLY TURPLE, I have had the pleasure of working with Wally, throughout my career and some of my memories takes me to Cyprus, 1970 D Coy, Wally was the CQMS, at the time with Bruce Martin, W.T. Smith (watertrailer) Roy Leblanc, and myself as his staff.  I was his personal driver on many occasions and one particular day we were returning from the Airport and as we passed the MIR, he said to me pull over and stop in front of  the MIR, he had some business to attend to and I said what might that be?.  He had heard that the MO, felt that he could beat Wally, in Arm Wrestling.....Well Wally went inside and proved him wrong....when he came out and jumped back into the jeep, he looked at me and said "That will shut him up".

Wally, was an excellent leader, solider, and very much a gentleman, you always new where you stood with him and he would never let you down.  I would have followed this man into battle anytime and anyplace......God Bless him......Pro Patria....
