Geeeeezzz, nuthing wrong with your memory! I must have stared at Stan Pilkie for a freaking hour last night trying to remember his name (we share accomodations briefly in Cyprus). There are a few others as well, including mugford, who lived across from me in shacks. Same with The Bruce...Thanks a lot Dave.

Hey, maybe you can help me out.

I was thinking of starting a board that was a little less formal, something like a snake pit where the boys can come and, in a non official atmosphere, shoot the breeze about yesteryear, today and tommorow. No Grudge wudge crap, just good fun. Since we both seem to have a bit of time on our hands and you clearly have computer skills I lack, specially in the html department, maybe we could collaborate.... Anyhow, if you are interested, email me. sbrmike@canada.com.

PS If anybody else is interested, feel free to contact me. This is a fine site but, due to the official standard, we, as all good Royals, must be on our good, gracious behaviour. Be nice if we had a place where, after a couple of pops, we could meet for a chat or swap lies.... Wink

Hi Mike,

I’ll have to give it some thought; most providers have the same guidelines as what’s being currently used, so we can’t deviate too much in content…but good soldiers can always find a way :-o)

Essentially, my problem would be time, as I’m actually a database programmer; mostly in MS Access, as that’s what my clients use.  Anyway, we’ll see what happens…

Cheers,

Dave

Long time; thought we took that photo last week :-o)

The photo was actually taken, mere minutes after returning from the field; hence all the dirty faces.  I believe, as it was an organized ADP Platoon photo, it was taken by a Base/Battalion photo tech…only an assumption though.

Anyway old-man (:-o)), good to hear from you!!  Hope all is well, and that life has treated you with respect, and kindness.

As for myself; just a camp follower these day; retired in 2001.  Work out of my home…full-time dad, and a part time programmer.  The old-girl is a PMed tech in Greenwood (14 Wing), but we are penciled in to move next year; Halifax hopefully – least that’s where we plan to retire.

Again, hope all is well!

Keep the faith; Cheers,

Dave

Thanks for posting these pics...90% of these guys were ADP from 82-84 also.
I am still in touch with Tony Lambert..He is a financial planner in Winnipeg at this time.
I was Proper's and St.Pierre's gunner and then Vic Hickey's driver.
I will check with "towgunner" Gene Russo to see if he has group pics from 82-84.

Hi, regarding Lambert, Tony and his wife Sheryl, and family moved out to Calgary about 2-years ago.  Tony opened a call centre, and then I believe he moved into online pharmaceuticals.

Regardless, if you’re able to get those pics of ADP, I and others would look forward to seeing them.

Cheers,

Dave

I recognize Frank Murray, Tony Giacomelli and Bob Roffel. My question is this. Was Roffel killed in a mortar accident in Gagetown? I have seen that name in the last post. We shared a room for awhile when we both first went to 1RCR.

Hi Jerry:

Roffel was killed when he went to the Airborne. As I recall he fell off a rope bridge. RIP.
