A ROYAL CANADIAN "NEVER PASSES A FAULT"
|
Greetings fellow Royal Canadians
Just a sit rep on the meeting the Niagara branch had this afternoon at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 479 in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
First of all, allow me to say what a pleasure it was to be amongst such fine company and thank each and every one of you crazy buggers for electing me the new branch president. I will endeavour to follow in the footsteps of James Kaczmerek, who served Royal Canadians in the Niagara Region for several years. I am sure Royal Canadians throughout the Niagara Region's regimental sphere will join me in thanking Jim for his unwavering commitment to the brotherhood. Pro Patria.
On with the new!
As it stands now, I will be bringing (compliments of the old man's minivan-snicker) a group from the Niagara branch to London for the Kowang San Day luncheon. Names and numbers to be identified at a later date but I would like to meet with RT and my esteemed colleagues at the London branch to speak of regimental things and have a few toasts to the lads. ;-)
Ernie Wetzel, who posts here often, will represent the Niagara Branch of the RCR Association on Remembrance Day and lay a wreath at the cenotaph in Merriton, just outside of St Catherines. Royal Canadians in the area are urged to attend!
The Regimental Birthday celebrations will be somewhat subdued this year due to the fact that the hosting legion's Christmas Party we usually tee up with will NOT be occurring.
Accordingly, the Regimental Birthday celebration will be held on the 19th of December at RCL #479, Spring Street, Niagara Falls. I will post the timings later when everything is confirmed but I would have all Royal Canadians or those who had the great fortune to serve with such a distinguished regiment to join us in a toast to the longevity of The RCR and, of course, to our fallen comrades in wars past and wars present.
On closing, I would say that it has come to my attention that there are many Royal Canadians living in the Niagara Region who are not, YET, members of the association.
Be advised!
I am recruiting!
Don't make me hunt you down just to make you have a good time and relive the glory! Instead, email me through this link and I will hook you up!
Mike

Congrats Mike and siy hi to Hans Kaspar & ken Jiggens for me they are old friends.
I managed to get in touch with Ken this afternoon, Jesse. He sounded quite pleased to hear about you. He is going to send me his email so I can give him the address to this site. You guys can, hopefully, hook up .
Hans was out but I left a message on his phone. When he calls back, I will pass on his regards. I believe he was thinking about joining us for the trip to London on the 23rd.
Will you be attending Kowang San Day luncheon in London, Jesse? If so, I will pass on the word... might give em some incentive.
