James took his own life on June 22,2008. I will post funeral arrangements when I have them. His family is having a private memorial on Friday June 27,2008. We will be having a gathering at Masse Hall 110 Anne Street South in Barrie so his friends can pay their respects, starting at 1:00 pm. All friends and brothers welcome.

I first met Jim Gardiner when I was an obnoxious young private wih more enemies than freinds, it seemed at the time. Jim was among the few who took the time to know me and showed me confidence so that I may build my own. He and these few others are amongst my inner circle, still closely bonded today. Though Jim and I spent much of our lives seperate he was never far from my mind and thoughts of our antics, lessons we learned as young men/soldiers, were many over the time we spent apart. When one of our own inner circle was going to say "I Do", again.. Jimmy hosted a hell of a bang up Stag for him, at his auto shop in Barrie. At the time I hadn't seen Jim since 19 "O" February it had been so long and I wasn't sure he would even remember me. When our eyes met we knew who each other was and we embraced liem brothers do and that night fell together like we had not spent one moment apart. That was back around 99/ 2000 I think and I Havn't seen Jimmy since. I spent alot of time away from home behind the wheels of mant trucks over the the years. Recently, Jimmy surfaced on our board here and I was quick to respond, once he posted his # I immediately called him up, just last month, we talked for well over two hours i think and he seemed in good spirits, we discussed him getting registered with VA and he told me that he was already underway in that respect. The telephone call again, was like we hadn't spent a moment apart, we laughed and reminecsed like we were kids again. Jimmy was lacking some intel as to the wereabouts of a very close friend and I brought him up to date with the required contact info. We said goodbye with Jimmy in a hurry to call our close friend and re-establish comms between themselves. Last night I sign on to our most welcome site and discover that my good friend must have concealed his real feelings and now he is gone. Wonder if I could have made a difference if I had gone to se him? No answer there to be had!! Looks like Jim is getting us back together again though ! If my Harley had back pegs, Jimmy,, They would be down always for your spirit to ride with me. Love ya Brother, see ya soon as I can get there, but you know, we are all soldiers till God dismissess us, so I have to finish up to catch up my friend, rest asured Jimmy, i'll get there!! Recce the place Jim !! "As long as we remember our loved ones, then they are never really gone" Tim

I'm also a little confused. I was Sgt Jim Gardiners 2ic for a while during Snowgoose 52 in 1989. Is there two James/Jim Gardiners?

Doug: The Jim I worked for spelled it Gardiner or at least thats the way it's spelled in the Eight-Point Star from Snowgoose 52. And yes he had a dark mustache. See you at the reunion.

The Jim Gardiner I am thinking of got out around 90-91 and then moved with his wife to Barry, she was a supply tech who worked clothing stoes and then in Highbury?

It was confirmed this past weekend at the reunion that it was Jim Gardiner that went through TQ3 with me in Pet. 1980. I too was confused for the longest time. I was very surprise and shocked to hear that it was the Jim whom I've known and shared alot of laughs with. I think it was Tim McCulley who told me this. I could be wrong though.
