By popular demand, I've created a How-To for having images appear with your posts. However, if anyone just doesn't feel comfortable with it, you can still email me the images, and I'll try to get them up there for you. Brian D. Watters === Now, on to the lesson.

Well mike, it's gotta be no wider than 100px, and can be saved as either a JPG or GIF file. I beleive the file size needs to be 12k or 10k and under? not sure about that part. Brian

OK. Its odd as I think I have it done right and its in place for a few posts then, when I wander and come back after a while, its gone as if the save had not been recorded. Probably this crapolie computer I'm driving....

Yes, thats right One of the lads sent it to me after the freaking flood. Early eighties, we staged down in the south then headed north to Scot-Eng border for the shoot. Good excercise, better time.
Hey, I could use a hand naming the lads as its been twenty years.... and names fade.... Say hi to Bob for me, he's a homer from Niagara.....

Good Lord, Tim! Your frigging fast on the draw today! snicker. So quick I didn't even see you had a post in the thread stream... Good job. Someday I'd like to have a mortarman reunion.... get all the lads together for a weekend or something. Maybe down here in Niagara as I have a couple of friends who own hotels (RCR discount) and am in good standing at my local legion.

Phil, when I created this message board, it was not my intent to make it difficult for people to post to it. Discovering that images could be displayed here was a real bonus.
I'll try to break it down for you as my initial instructions may have mislead you somewhat.
First of all, apart from your profile image, no images can be uploaded directly to this site.
You must place them online somewhere and know the URL or web address where they are located.
If you know the location where they are, you can click in the "INSERT IMAGE" button which looks like this: and place the web address to your image between the tags that appear.
That is the simplest way I can put it.
If you need a place to upload the photos from your computer to, I suggest www.photobucket.com
once you upload an image there, it will provide you with the image tags and location, so you just have to copy and paste it into your message.
I hope this helps and look forward to seeing some photos from you soon.
Please feel free to PM me if you require any addition help. Pro Patria -Brian

I'm glad you wrote back Phil. My instructions are for uploading photos and displaying them online in the forums, not for downloading.
Since you've indicated you don't have an issue with downloading, I'll mention the easiest method for others who may not already know.
For those others who don't already know, simply right click on any image you see on this side and choose "SAVE AS", then select a location on your computer where you wold like to save the image to.
Just an added bit of info, for anyone interested. Every image from every web page visited (for most people 20 days worth, unless you've changed the settings under your browsers Tools > Options menu), is already on your computer, and can be viewed either through your browsers history, or by searching your "Temporary Internet Files" Folder.
Happy Camping folks. Pro Patria.

I sincerely apologize to the rest of the board for the previous posts; but if challenged by being called an 'idiot' by the other party, hey, I gotta respond. I apologize also for posting for all to see (but again, if challenged, I respond).
In regards to the other individual, I don't believe we ever crossed paths; he may have been/ is an outstanding soldier,... I don't know the man. From our 'rant' on the board, I can say I respect (only for now) his previous service to the Regiment and country, but from his posts ONLY to Brian and myself, I apologize for calling him a moron..but he appears to be a bitter, twisted, pathetic individual (just my personal opinion, but hey, I could be wrong).
If this means being banned from the post, so be it...I will not just lay down and be kicked in the guts / slandered( to be honest, kinda enjoyed it LOL)
Hopefully our 'rants' were 'just the heat of the moment'
Again, my apologizes to all Cheers
Pro Patria
