Hey Jack

Was that taken when we were in BC?  I see Al Burton, and Mike McCarthy, and Scotty cant remember his last name.  Remember going up that mountain at night and we were all baaaaing like sheep.  Drove Brain St Louis crazy.  Rain turned to snow, and it was in May or June I think.  Howling Commandos lol

Nike,

Remember that exercise well, our section was on patrol way up in the mountains and came across a tree a grizzly had just marked and we turned around and headed down the mountain pretty quick. It was good for a chuckle when all us young pups found out what the hell all the fuss was about. "We was in grizzly country."

How ya doing Bob, good to hear from you.  That was a fun exercise.  first half was on Vancouver Island, when we stayed at the old Provincial Warning Center, and paid a visit to Comox.  Flew home out of Chiliwack and were suppose to jump back into Edmonton.  I think each pl had there own aircraft and enroute, we were told the winds were higher then 30 knots.  The JM and pl comd Brain St Louis just kept going up and down the acft saying keep your feet and knees together boys its gonna be a rough one.  When we started doing the acft drills, and he came to the winds he just said ahh forget they are high.  We were on the 15 second stand by with the guys in the door, and I remember wow were gonna go even though the winds were high and gusting higher.  I was never so happy to see the DZ shack go by and we were still aboard the acft.  Then the stop drop came, I have thought about that alot over the years, as i know if the green had of come on, we would of all left.

That was the same ex  that Charlie Toope and I believe Rick Burton 7 Frank Kozina pulled that guy out of the river that capsized his canoe before we headed for higher altitude.

Hey Jack

I think I took that picture with my camera, as i have one of me in that same spot.  If you remember we slept by that river a little way back in the direction your looking.
