A ROYAL CANADIAN "NEVER PASSES A FAULT"

Well, someone is going to be the first, hopefully, he will be a Royal Canadian who, God willing, survives the engagement.
New Canadian Victoria Cross unveiled

Ottawa — Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Governor-General Michaëlle Jean unveiled the Canadian Victoria Cross Friday morning, the military honour that will replace the last medal that Canadian soldiers accepted directly from the Queen.
The Canadian Victoria Cross replaces the Victoria Cross as the highest honour awarded to Canadian soldiers.
Described as a “somewhat simple” medal, its major changes from the British original include the addition of fleurs-de-lis, and the replacement of the words “For Valour” with the Latin “Pro Valore.”
The Victoria Cross has historically been an understated military honour, in contrast to the acts of “most conspicuous bravery” required to earn it.
Eighty-one members of the Canadian military have been awarded the honour since it was introduced in 1856. This included three soldiers who all lived on Pine Street in Winnipeg, which was later renamed Valour Road.
The last Canadian to be awarded the Victoria Cross was Lieutenant Robert Gray, who was recognized posthumously for sinking a Japanese warship before being shot down in the last days of the Second World War.
The unveiling of the new medal marks the end of what the Governor-General called “a magnificent story,” more than 15 years of research and design since the Queen gave her assent to the new medal in December, 1992.
The alloy of the new medal contains metal from the original Victoria Cross, the 1867 Confederation Medal and metal from all regions of Canada.
