I'm not sure who's they are, but I'm sure who's there not ; Aldore's as he never owned a pair of socks . Molley tried to get him a pair but he didn't know how to put them on . He got a new hat instead and it took him a year to learn how to wear that right .
I'll throw my guess in as Mookie's .

Back around 1975 Chuck Shaw was retired and working as a Commissionaire at London City Hall. I had the bn photo man, Roger Corbin, take the picture and a copy of it hung in the Home Station Sgts Mess for years. The story goes that Chuck's wife Marg did not like the socks because they had been knitted for him by an old girl friend before he was married. He was proud to wear them on Regimental days.
