Yes Ernie I remember the high tower. I still remember Bii Renaud yelling,
'The more you rigg the more you ride'. Great fun, lots of work.
Completed my jump course May 1968. Take care.

Thanks for the photo, I remember it well.  Maybe some one can help me out?  We had a Sgt. who was in charge of the tower, his nick name was" MOOSE" but I can't remember his proper name.  He later came to Germany, 1966 as Staff Sgt. stores"C" company.   I always remember the pick handle or PEE Stick as it was called.  Don't get caught in the washroom without it.  Good Times back then

Thanks Al, that name does ring a bell.  Are you the same Al Meecham that served in 1 RCR mid 60's, and was a Sgt. at the time?  If so,I served with you in C Company 1 RCR, 65-66.  Just wondering.
Thanks Ron "Trooper" Green

    Hi Ron
I can,t place you but probably should.didn,t know a lot of the young guys back then as I was in support coy most of that tour.I enjoyed the guys in C co. but didn,t really get a chance to know some of them better,as thats the year I decided to retire to civvy life,in which I had often regreted.Who was your pl sgt.back then?I recall Bob Jones,John McKenzie,Jim Miller amd Phil Arsenault.Health wise I,m pretty good, have all the aches and pains an old bugger like me usually has,but not complaining,as a lot of my old buds from the 50,s and 60,s are gone.Hope your health is good too Ron,and it, nice to hear from some of the guys in those eras.Had a phone call from one from Nfld. last week.I served with him 54-57.It was a real surprise, but great reminicing.See your name pop up on the board now and then, but I never realized in how we crossed paths. You hang in there and take care Ron
                                   Cheers    Al.

Hey Al:
I didn't spend too much time with 1 RCR came over as re-enforcement, and then stayed with 2 RCR.  My time with you was when they had a rece platoon or section with each Company and you were in charge.  Remember the radar that worked on sound waves, and we had to learn all the different sounds.  People walking, truck motors, and even the swishing sound of a person riding a bicycle.  There was also the very large infera-red unit that was state of the art back then.  The size of a small barrel, now you can put something that is just as good in your back pocket.  Oh the good old days!!!!  I remember Phil Arsenault all right.  How about NS Horn CSM?  How about Cpl. Steele?  There is a few other faces dancing around in my head but I can't but a name to them.  I'm going down East  in May to visit a few guys I haven't seen in forty years.  I'm really looking foward to that trip.  Have yourself a Great Easter and hang in there.  As for myself, '' Any morning there not shoveling dirt on you, is a good morning."  Hang in there.
