Hi Jim, both actually.. but more sad i think.. i did and still do miss being with the good people. As i learned quickly, most peple in the military were the very best the country offered, thats kind of sad that the rest of the country people do not know this... but they were and i believe but what i see, they still are.. so , to me its the good pals i miss most, so this site does an awful lot to fill that hole. How about you? How did you feel onretirement? And since then? ranrad

Hi Ron
I felt terrible although I didn't show it! For me it was the end of a long career (38 yrs). I was 17 when I joined and 55 when I retired. If it wasn't for music (Band, DJ, writing music and recording), I think I would have had it a lot tougher. Now I don't do anything and I miss my music severely. Strange for a soldier to say!
I'm waiting for the time to present itself, when I will look forward to do something with music, write again, record (others) or maybe play again! I am working hard to make my wish come true. This uneventful thing that's set me back, happened at the wrong time. I was playing, DJ'ing, writing and recording. I had it all picked (No Pun) out and nothing to loose, just a whole lot to win, music. But I'll just work and wait for the opportunity to come again!

Jim I sure know the feeling. I left the army with 35 years, I would have stayed longer but I was released medically. During my retirement function I was near to tears more than a few times. I too joined at 17 and the army was my life, and I loved it. I also jumped into music with both feet and I enjoy it, as you know it was my other passion. All the best and keep the faith. Your Old Friend BJ
