Actually Abe, I think 3RCR took 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in the compitition. Bottom left kneeling is Lt(at the time) Thompson, I think he's a Col or higher now. I was assigned to the Swedish team and remember during the 10 miler catching up and passing the Paras.

Hi Rudy:
I know we definitely took first place, but didn't we lose second place because of an in jury? Unfortunately, I lost the Connecting File from that tour. Have you still got yours?

Hi Jim:
You certainly are a wealth of information. Thanks for printing that. I'd forgotten, but it was a remarkable accomplishment.

Howdy. Carrying the regimental banner, I believe it is now Sgt Bobby Simmons. The NCO in front looks like Bobby Cotnam.

Worked with now Col Thompson, many years ago in the RCR Battle School. The last I'd seen or heard of him he was Base Commander of CFB Petawawa.

I'd have to disagree with the "pleasantly cool of Winnipeg." As I recall we left Cyprus with 40 C and arrived the next day in Winnipeg with a temperature of 0 C. I was hoping that they'd turn the Boeing around and take us right back.
