Sorry guys, I was wanting to put this in with the map above, but hey new to this so here's a little more info. There are alot more hotels/motels in the area than just what I put on the map. these are the higher end hotels in the area. The First Canada Inns, like it says have been block booked for this event, there are 75 rooms in this facility, and it's first come first served. Because it's being held on a long weekend all of the hotels that I spoke to said that they are being booked up fast so it would be a good idea that if you are planning to come, book soon. There are alot of other hotels/motels in the smaller towns in the area also like, Gananoque, and Napanee, and just along Highway 15 from the 401 to the base there are three motels, and on highway 2 just east of the base there is another. There are alot of other campgrounds in the area also. I used to have a schedule of events, as soon as I track that down I'll post it also. Well if there is anything I can do for anybody here in Kingston don't be shy, Email me, or give me a shout at home 613 - 546 - 2547, or on my Cell 613 - 540 - 2547. Later Troops.

Hey Ron:
Sorry it took so long to get back to you on this but I'm trying to get something together, you see when the REME guys have their reunions here in the summer the base used to provide space for those that were going to camp for the weekend. I'm going to look into this further and post more info on it. For right now, on the map there are two campgrounds, right under the Y in Yahoo is a number 4, thats the Kingston KOA at 2039 Cordukes Rd ph. 613 - 546 - 6140, and along the top of the map about 3/4 of the way across where the Great Cataraqui River is there is a number 3 under the word River, that's Rideau Acres Campground and Resort, it's right off of Hwy 15 at 1014 Cunningham Rd ph. 613 - 546 - 2711. As soon as I get more info I'll post it.

OK, a bit more info. I spoke with one of the guys from the 125th Anniversary Reunion Comittee on Friday afternoon, he said that the plan right now is to not book any area on the Base for campers, he said it was too much of a run around. Instead they have made arrangements at the Army, Navy, Air Force Club on Gore Rd to have space available for campers. There is good and bad with this option, first there are no showers available at the ANAF, also the bathroom facilities will only be available during bar hours, the good thing about it is that it is semi - secluded. I have it marked on the above map as number 2, directions are from the 401 take the Hwy 15 exit, go South on 15 to the second set of lights which will be Gore Rd, turn left on Gore rd and straight down to the ANAF. Real easy to get here. As soon as I get more info I'll post. And if there are any othere questions from anyone let me know and I'll get the answers for ya.

If you are driving, I take it you mean the First Canada Inns right? Anyway if you are driving, the directions are: Take the Division St exit off the 401, drive South on Division and if you are coming from the West (London, Toronto direction) it will be the third light up, at Weller Ave turn left (there's an East Side Marios at the corner) and the First Canada Inns is right behind the East Side Marios. If you are coming from the East (Ottawa, Cornmall direction) it will be the fourth light. See you at the reunion!!

Just want to restate some info from the above, first of all, for anyone camping, the best place for camping would be Rideau Acres campground, about 1 - 1.5 km north of the 401 on Hwy 15 (closest campground to the Legion, according to Yahoo maps 9.1km). Secondly the First Canada Inns is block booked for the Reunion and there will be a shuttle from this hotel to the Legion, if you cannot get into the First Canada Inns, the Days Inn on Benson, and the Comfort Inn on Warne are within walking distance to the First Canada Inns. The Comfort Inn on Warne being the further one at about 500m. So make arrangements soon.

Are you flying right in to Kingston, or Ottawa, or TO, or what? Have you got arrangements to get right to Kingston here? If not let me know and I can make the trip up to Ottawa or where ever and pick you up. Ottawa Airport is only 1 1/2 hours and TO is only 2 1/2 hours so let me know. Even if you're flying right in to Kingston, no need to take a cab to your hotel, just let me know and I'll pick you up and take you to the hotel. Later man.

Randy:
You have to register first, and I think you pay at the same time. The registration form and all of the details are right on the RCR Home page, there is a link in my third or fourth post, I think it might be a good idea to get registered and paid up as soon as possible. I was talking to a guy on the comittee Jack O'Brien and I think he said that they were expecting about 2,000 people. But if you ask me, you gotta think that there is going to be at least 1,000 serving members, and that means not much left for ex/retired members. I believe that there will be alot more than 2,000 people wanting to come to this. Later man!!

I will also be sending out my registration next week. That is a good idea Randy about name tags. It has been a while since any of us has seen each other. Unfortunately we all have aged and gotten more grayer. I am looking forward to seeing everyone there. It will be a blast. I have an older brother who is stationed in Kingston. My brother is kind enough to put us up or the weekend. Hey Doug, if my brother filled out the registration forms for the reunion, would he be entitled to attend? He was attached to the Royals for a time a while back. Let me know. Thanks. Pro-Patria.

It has been brought to my attention that some people were (or are) under the impression that the reunion is only open to serving and retired members of the Association. This is not the case. From the regimental website page on the reunion:
http://thercr.ca/125reunion.htm
All serving and retired Royal Canadians, and all those who have served with any unit of the Regiment are invited to attend the 125th Reunion.

Since I'm not in location with the Reunion Committee, any list I receive will always be a little out of date against recently received registrations. I will update the list on the regimental website whenever I receive new data from the Committee.

Hey Boys
Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you all, I've been down in Gettysburg for the last week on holidays. Dennis, how the hell are ya man, it looks like the Regt'l Adj has answered the question for me, good to hear from ya and see ya at the reunion. Randy and Grant you guys made a good choice with the Holiday Inn, it's right downtown on the water, beautiful location and close to everything, but of a hike to walk back from the Legion maybe 20 - 30 mins with a little bit of a stagger, but probably less than 10 bucks by cab. The Name Tag thing I'm not sure about but is a great idea Randy, like it says in the other posts Jack O'Brien or Terry Seaver can answer those questions (guess I was stepping on other peoples toes by passing on information, just thought I'd help out) Well this will be my last post on this thread so I'll see you all at the reunion, Later boys!!

Stopped into the Peterborough OPP today and enquired about Jim Evans, the desk SGT. put us on the phone together and we chatted briefly as he was chasing down a bad guy at the time. Billy Storm has contacted him about the re-U and I will be talking to him again soon. He says hello to all.
