Hi Ron

Yes I know the guy in the grey suit. Jim Chamberlain and his wife across the table. The other guy in the white jacket, was Howie Huh. This picture was taken at CFOCS in 1976. I was there from 1973 to 1977. The RSM's were Bob Slaney and Ken Wood.

Hi Jim:

You were gone from CFOCS by the time I got there as a candidate in Sep 1977. There were some good evenings at the Jolly Miller with John Jessome which I well remember.  Ken Wood was the school RSM.  Bill Wilkinson from another regiment was our platoon WO.  He was a damn good man anyway even if he was not a Royal.

Hi Jim..I missed you at CFOCS, commissioned in 1976. Bob Slaney was the RSM. Ended up carrying the sword at the end. Slaney taught me sword drill, unfortunately celebrations the night before grad gave me a brain fart and I invented my own salute, was the grandest thing since the three musketeers. Rolly Phillips was my WO instructor from the PPCLI. Coincidentally he had been my instructor on the advanced recce surveillance course at the school of infantry when it was still in Borden years before. Rolly's nickname was Snap. The course commander was an air type named Arsenault. Jim Sheilds was out there at the same time with another platoon and we shared a few beers. Bring back any memories?

Hi Rick

Yes I know all the people you mentioned. I went there in 73 and left in 77. The reason that you missed me because I was in an accident on 15 July 76 and never got back to work until Jan 77. I was going to work on 15 Jul 1976 and I got hit, head on, by a woman driving on my side of the road. The bad news, I was driving a motorcycle. I broke my back(5th lumbar), 2 vertebrae in my neck (5th and 7th), 72 breaks of the maximilia  (face). In so far as my maximilla was concerned I had my jaw wired with four holes in my forehead to four holes in my bottom jaw for 9 weeks. I had pain like you couldn't believe!! When they ask: Have you ever suffered from pain? I just say yes!!!

Hi Mike

Yes it hurt and maybe that's why I had a stroke. No one on either side my family has had a stroke, as a matter of fact they have longevity going for them. My father is 86, my mother is 86, my dads father died at100, my mothers mom died when she was 89. I gonna beat them all!

Holy mackerel... now that would be the definition of pain...and you might be ritght on that it led to a stroke..thats a lot of banged up parts not to cause something...and your family longevity backs that up... plus your age.. and the fact you were in good physical condition... what does your lawyer think?? or do you want the hassle?
