Sad news.

I met Steve way back in the late seventies when he, Decky Stafford, Moe (Rick Morris) and I were sent off to CFB Suffield as the pioneer detachment in support of Delta Company. Nothing like spending three weeks in the back of a dozer to get to know somebody...God, we were all so young then.

Steve was also a damn fine shot and, if memory serves me correct, had his own C-1 to compete with.

Rest in Peace, Brother.

Rest in Peace Steve.
We go back many years lots of fond memories.  Great rifle shot.  Way too many names appearing lately in Departed Comrades.

SGT Ruthven was either RSS to 4RCR when I was in or had just retired from the Regs and come down to the Reserve at that time - not sure which, or when.  Very sad.  I just saw him a couple years ago too, at a mall I think.  Shocking and unwelcome news. Sad
