Im a new member and I served with 2RCR from 82 -88. I started in H Coy and ended my time with G Coy. The knees got bad so I remustered to Air Traffic Control and retired from the blue suits in Germany as an instructor at the NATO AWACs school in Geilenkirchen Germany in 2002.
I had the the privledge working for and along side some real great guys,
Shawn Corkery, Mike Sullivan, Larry Spencer, Wayne Duffy, Billy St Dennis, Russ King, Wayne Brake, Wade Clifford, Steve Sampson, Kirk Ironside, Marty Dupuis to name a few.
I bumped into Marty at Vimy Ridge during the 80th year.
Great times and great guys.

Dave and Charlie,
Harrison, I bumped into him in North Bay in the underground complex back in 1996. He was an Air Defence Tech. His trade and mine combined to form Aerospace Control Op or ACOP. I was in Goose Bay ATC at the time and was on the conversion course in North Bay.
Charlie, It has been a long time.
Its funny how life brings you back to places and people who we never thought we would visit or see again. How I didn't realize the impact the Regiment and its people had on me until years later.
I would have to say being a part of the Regiment was the hardest and most rewarding time I had in the CF by leaps and bounds. That the remainder of my time in the CF was influenced daily by what I was taught while I was in the Battalion.
Now I am getting ready to badge my son into the Regiment on the 16th of November. I am very proud.

Mike I have just viewed your message today,in ref: to your son following in your foot steps.Congratulations,you have a right too be super proud.Its obvious that when a son wants to be like his dad in such A way Iask you ,what better an honer could one man recieve ,than the love and respect and obvious admiration of his son.I have a little boy who just turned six,and he say's all the time.I want to be a soldier some day just like you were dad.Those simple words really say alot,and the pride I feel when I think of him sharing the same experiences I had,and wearing our hat badge,well I think any dad reading this might know where I'm coming from.I think it's the only place in the world I personnaly could have met so many good friends.It sure sounds good to hear some of our old friends are doing well,and their children also.It lets me Know our generation has contributed positively too todays generation.I often wonder where have all the old bro;s gone .mike your story is simple ,and powerful at the same time and is exactly why I joined this board.I hope all my old friends are doing well.I sure appreciate when I hear good news. Wayne you party animal ,sure glad too here your ok bud.Boy when I saw your message a while ago,the first thing came too mind is the french commando course we were on.Remember that one.I presently run an Industrial paint facility in Edmonton Alberta.If when you retire some day and your out this way,and you want work let me know ,Lots of good newfies in our plant.By the way Wayne ,you guys are doing a hell of A job,these days .Drop me a line some time via my email its on my profile.Great to here your doing ok and hell,hope too see you at the reunion next year in kingston. Good go Mike, you must be proud! I have a 13 and 10 year old daughters. I try to convince on the benefits of the military. But, they saw me & niner-domestic gone a lot, and they say no way!...ah well...though I still have 4 more years to keep trying to convince 'em!
