Nick Names

After looking at the latest photos submitted by Jim Hickson from 1962 t0 65, my first recollections of some of the photos were of their nick names rather than their real names. I'm wondering if the modern generation has names of endearment for their senior NCOs or other notables. Without naming names these came to mind from several photos.."Pig", "Pus Guts", Hatchet Face,"Dog Face","The Thorn", "RBLT" (named after a rubber boot from the 60s), Thumper, Hemp Hair,Patti Page the singin rage, Elizabeth Taylor..the homeliest girl in Germany, Yellow Socks..who lived in a Corporals cubicle for days and subsisted on peanut butter sandwiches..Anybody remember any other famous nom de plumes...

Well there once was a girl we called Bucky who was known to spend many a night in the shacks in London in the late 70's early 80"s.
And no one who spent time in Cyprus in the 80's-90's is likely to forget Mur-Mur aka Mumbles the mute whiskey dolly form Nicosia.

Hi Rick

There's one I can't forget. It's "Bananna Lips". This was for a guy that had big lips. If anyone can guess his name, answer here.

Jim: Maybe a better spelling would be "The Snozz". One of your Gjoa Haven pic's.

Rick

Ps: Randy Watts will know the answer. BTW he should also remember Bucky.

Hi Bob

OK I accept your "Banana Lips" attached to Lance Shekton but the name I'm looking for is someone I joined with made it to Sgt in 1RCR and re-mustered to MSE Op as a Cpl.

Jim

PS Its strange how a nickname follows you around!!!!!!
