The Royal Canadian Regiment
Regimental Meet & Greet - Tue 4 Dec 2007, 1900 hrs
 
The Regimental Senate and the Regimental Executive Committee will be meeting at Wolseley Barracks on 3 and 4 December, respectively.  Following these meetings, on 5, 6, 7 December, Regimental Headquarters will be hosting a Regimental Officers Indoctrination Course (ROIC) for about 40 new officers of the Regiment.
 
In support of these regimental meetings and the ROIC, the Regiment will be hosting a mixed, all-ranks Meet & Greet on the evening of Tuesday 4 December.  This Meet & Greet will be held in the Wolseley Barracks Officers' Mess, commencing at 1900 hours.  Dress for the Meet & Greet will be regimental blazer, or jacket and tie.
 
All members of the regimental family are welcome to attend this Meet & Greet.  This function will provide an opportunity for Royal Canadians to meet and speak with the members of the Regimental Senate and REC, and to meet new officers from across the Regiment.

The Regimental Maj,Maj Austin,started of the Meet and Greet by thanking everyone for there attendance,then introducedThe Colonal of The Regiment,MGen Holmes,Ex Col of The Reginent MGen De faye,Chair of the senate BGeN Skidmore,Regimental Col,Col Simms,Regimental CWO Mike Hornbrooke,chair of The REC Col Jorgensen.ColOf Regimentmade presentations to Sgt Mike Newcombe(retired)Bosnia citation and Mcpl Beach CD 1.Col of The Regiment gave the state of the Regiment saying how busy the Bns are.After state of The OF THe Regiment was cmplete finger food was served.The fol pers from London attended,Marv MacDonald,John O'Quinn and wife,Ron McConnell,RT Walsh and wife,Col Welden Hon Col 4RCR,L/Col Milman CO 4RCR,Dave Ellyatt RSM 4RCR,Maj MacDonald DCO 4 RCR,L/Col Graham,Capt Peterson Padre 4 RCR,Abe Van Veen and 40 candidates for the R.O.I.C.

No, Don it's not the same Danny Bonner that was CQ for D Coy in the 70's.The last time I seen that Danny Bonner,he was the camp Sergeant-Major,Camp Ipperwash,in the 80's.

Shakey, aka, Dan, was also DSM of 3RCR in Baden prior to his posting to Ipperwash. CWO Tomkins was the RSM at the time.

Mister Tomkins, Arthur, I believe was his first name, would be posted just down the road in London and take over the position of Regimental Chief Warrant Officer from Vince Spicer.

Hi Jim, Buzz, Don: 

Lcol Dan Bonner (retired) was at the Regtl Meet and Greet.  His brother was MWO Dennis Bonner (RIP in 1980s) who was Camp Sergeant Major at Ipperwash.
