third row, third from right..Reid, last time I saw him he was the storeman for the Windsor jail after his retirement, that would be 12 years ago..

Hi Guys
Was sure some of you would remember #2 #3 #12 and #14,Ernie #2, he was C.Q (A Coy)between 55?57 and did back flips off the Mock tower to demonstrate how safe the eqiuipment was back in early 50s at Rivers,John Bain,you got to know the other three,ones related to you,and anyone involved in track and field has got to know #12 an old B Coy man .Ernie you,ll know them too.By the way take a closer look at #14, we talked a little about him on a previos post and sigs. and all fine Royals. Older second Bn guys should know the rest.

Right on, Eric Mc Clymont and Ted Pope.Sorry I might have given you a bum steer on Eric,s lasi init on my last post,but i guess I hit the wrong key.Just glad it wasn,t a nuke.The guy beside Pope is Bonner #15 ?,and the last one,s I believe was named Allen #16 ?.I served with them in the 2nd for a short time along with #13 Thompson? who is standing beside Eric.

No.1 also was a mystery to me although his face was familiar from my early days as as Royal.I believe John Brindle identified him as George Heaven,before Jim numbered the picture.My guess he was 2nd. bn.

Hi Guys
Pic was taken snr. n.c.o.course Borden 61/62??.Funny little story,on the navigation part of the course.The guy to left of George Heaven was a guy as I recall named Colours McEachren,an old ww2 vet.a good inst. and a good guy.A fellow Royal one night had to prove his skills at map and compass as we all did.Being a fellow Royal I volunteered to lug the wireless set for his leg of the navigation.Mistake #1 on my part.This was in the Blue mountains Collingwood.We left at dusk and I swear we climbed every friggin mountain and went through every swamp in that area,twice.We should have been back at base camp at 9/9.30 p.m.At around 6.30/7.00 a.m. the next morning,we were somewere at a dirt road intersection .Only then did colours allow anyone to assist him,because he too was lost and falling asleep on his climbing stick.Little did any of us know,we marched right off that map To make a long story short,after climbing one more 800 footer,VIOLA base camp where everybody was getting up or washing up.The guy flunked, (no names,no pack drill) but a good laugh later.
