Well buds , am about to go off on the 27th to Vancouver for heart bypasses on the 30th Nov.. but they tell me i will be back home and bouncing by the 7th Dec, so hope to be back up here reading all the great stuff no later than the 8th.. and as a reminder to all, get out and get your colonoscopy done..its so important to your health...mine was absolutly clear, no polyps and no evidence of disease.. i also had the upper done the same day, and they took a tiny sample out of the stomach to check for oddities.. all clear.. so get it done, and i have to say when they do the colonoscopy it is a real nice sensation.. you have no idea they are doing it , and yet you are still conscious.. the wonders of modern drugs..do it for yourself , and your family, catch any problems in the buf..just do it.. see you all on the 8th.. ranrad

The drink that they give you to clean you out is the worse part of the whole thing ,That and the mental part. There isnt much to it considering the test could save your life

Drum Major - Regt Band

Hi Ron,
You probably don't know me(Regt Band 75-84) among other bands, but I wish you all the best. I went through the by-pass routine 4 years ago next month.
The first operation was a double by-pass and an aortic arch anuerysm repaired, and six weeks later another anuerysn(abdominal) repaired.
All in all, it wasn't that bad. The first 2 or 3 days in intensive care following the by-pass were handled by lots of morphine(or so I'm told) and the next few days only when required.(only once or twice) I was in and out of the hospital in 7 days for the first op and the same for the second one.
7 days - WOW - I can remember when one was laid up for 7 days just for having your tonsils removed.(Mine were removed on the kitchen table at home back in the 40s) and I was off school for a week.
Anyway, again, all the best and don't worry yourself too much. Just think of the pretty nurses you'll get to meet.

I came into this world 69 years ago with a runny nose and a leaky butt. And it looks as if I'll be going out the same way
