HI Cor I was aware of the little group meeting in Barrie at Timmy,s and would loved to have seen these guys after all these years but I no longer am allowed to drive (eyesight) The wife hates driving.so I,m kind of like C.B. Coincidently,we usually stop at that outlet on our way back home when coming out of Barrie. All is well here, and I hope with you and Jean, good to hear from you. Can,t stay on comp. too long as it really bothers my eyes.Stay in touch. I remember you very well from the days in Germany and Ipperwash in mortar platoon. I remember having a beer with you at the milk bar in Germany when you told me you were getting out. I remember being disappointed that you were leaving because you were one of the better sgts that I worked for.

Hi Dave Good to hear from you.it,s been a few years.Hope all is well with you and your family.Thanx for the roses Dave, but i,m the one who should be giving them because I never worked with a better bunch of young bucks in my time.I still often think of that group and have great memories.By the way Dave, what,s the sitrep on Al Tapp.I haven,t heard anything on him since I bumped into you in Barrie.Cripes Dave I must be getting old as i can remember him and Art Tribble when they first joined up.I.m still in touch with Art and phone him at Christmas. He,s gone through some tough times as he now has both legs amputated (diabetes) and Elaine had cancer.Good to hear from you and I wish you and yours all the besr at Christmas.Stay in touch. Greetings all. The picture on this thread is (of course) Dave Boyd receiving his CD1. As the story goes, Dave mentioned to me over coffee a while back, he beileve he qualified for the CD1 but had not been issued it. I immediately launched into a detailed investigation to determined whether Dave qualified for his CD1. The investigation was exhausting. I was in no short supply of willing witnesses of Davey's past exploits. Sources revealed, in uncertain terms, a questionable past of less that acceptable levels of conduct and behaviour that would have Davy hardly qualify for the CD let alone the CD1. Nonetheless, I went back to Davy with these relavations to which Dave adamantly placed full blame and responsibilties on Bucket-head Conrad, Blais Cathcart and Aldore McIntyer for leading him down the wrong path throughout his long military career. DND HQ authorities agreed and sympatized with Dave and subsequently issued his CD1. I arranged to have the award presented to him at one of our Recruit Graduation. Dave's wife and dauther were there to celebrate the moment............
From Family to yours, have a safe and enyable Holiday Season. May 2008 bring you all continued Health Wealth and Happiness........Eli and Family.

Aldore, I believe Dave is referring to the infamous Provost "Frank Baril"........
In my investigation of Davey's CD1, I managed to uncover an event dating back in the early 60's where by Pte Boyd was in Ipperswash serving time (for a crime, of course, he had falsely been accused of and set-up by one or all of the three mentioned above). But thats another story.
While serving time, Pte Boyd escaped custody only to be found a short time later having a cool old in a local pub down the road. The Provost responsible for the esacape and subsequent capture of Pte Boyd was none other than Cpl Frank Beril. Clearly this event in Davey's past has remainded a significant event and Cpl Beril's sluth like police tactics impressed the young Boyd. Frank is now retired in the Kingston area.......
MERRY XAMS ALL..........Eli

Eli , I have to question your investigational abilities .
Pte / MCpl / Sgt / Mr Boyd who , as you know hung out with me at the end of his less than stellar career , has spent numerous days trying to find someone who would listen to his tails of , I deserve this , I need that , or they owe me this , but couldn't convince anyone , as they were all to clever and knew him to well to believe his line of b------t .
At last , he said I'll suck Eli into getting what I want for me . It worked , as he had pointed out that because of your training under Frank Baril , it would be a flawed , at best final report .
Good job : Barry
At least he's happy , for now
