Hello Jim:

If anyone needs confirmation:  Walsh, Feitschinger, Cavener, Eddy, Forbes, Charlebois.

Appreciate it if you could put this up on the site for Tyke for November 11.

All the best, RT

How's this for an oldie???

TURN UP THE VOLUME !!!

New form for this.. it's cute but you may need to watch it twice; once to watch the Burma shave signs change, and once to catch all the pictures up above.

THIS IS REALLY GREAT !!!      For those of you too young to remember  'too bad you missed it !!'

Watch the Burma Shave Signs change .

Three Little Words That Work!!
(1) The three little words: "Hold On, Please..."
Saying this, while putting down your phone and walking off (instead of
hanging-up immediately) would make each telemarketing call so much more
time-consuming that boiler room sales would grind to a halt. Then when
you eventually hear BT's "beep-beep-beep" tone, you know it's time to
go back and hang up your handset.... You have efficiently completed
your task.
These three little words could help eliminate telephone soliciting.
(2) Do you ever get those annoying phone calls with no one on the
other end?
This is a telemarketing technique where a machine makes phone calls
and records the time of day when a person answers the phone.
This technique is then used to determine the best time of day for a
"real" salesperson to call back and get someone at home.
What you can do after answering: If you notice there is no one
there, is to immediately start hitting your # button on the phone, 6
or 7 times, as quickly as possible. This confuses the machine that dialled
the call and it kicks your number out of their system. Gosh, what a
shame not to have your name in their system any longer!!!
(3) When you get those "pre-approved" letters in the mail for
everything from credit cards to 2nd mortgages and similar type junk,
do not throw away the return envelope. Most of these come with
postage-prepaid return envelopes, right?
It costs them more than the regular postage "IF" and when they are
returned. It costs them nothing if you throw them away! In that case,
why not get rid of some of your other junk mail and put it in these cool
little, postage-prepaid return envelopes. Send an advert for your
local chimney sweeper to American Express they might need one! Send
a pizza coupon to HSBC . in case their canteen packs up. You get
the idea. If you didn't get anything else that day, then just send
them back their blank application form ... after all, it is their form!
If you want to remain anonymous, just make sure your name isn't on
anything you return. You can even send the envelope back empty if
you want to just to keep them guessing! It still costs them, and it is
their envelope after all  ... you are just returning it!!!!
The banks and credit card companies are currently getting a lot of
their own junk back in the post, but folks..... We need to OVERWHELM
them, in order to stop them.
Let's let them know what it's like to get lots of junk mail, and
best of all they're paying for it ... Twice!
Let's help keep Royal Mail busy. Since the Royal Mail is saying that
e-mail is cutting into their business profits, let's help them so
they will not need to increase postage costs again. You get the idea!
If enough people follow these tips, it will work ---- maybe you'll
get very little junk mail anymore.
THIS JUST MIGHT BE ONE E-MAIL THAT YOU WILL WANT TO FORWARD TO YOUR
FRIENDS!!!!!!!

Texas Preacher

The new Texas preacher was a dead ringer for Conway Twitty, the country music singer.

One day he decided to visit some of the church members who hadn't been to service lately.

He went to the first lady's house and knocked on the door. When she answered the door, she said, "Conway Twitty!"

"No ma'am," he replied. "I'm your new pastor, and I came to have prayer with you."
So she said come right on in.

He visited several more homes, and everyone thought he was Conway Twitty.

Then he came to a young widow woman's house on the end of the street. She was taking a shower at the time, so she just wrapped a towel around her and opened the door.

When she saw her caller, she threw up her hands - which allowed the towel to fall to the floor.

"Oh my God!" she exclaimed. "It's Conway Twitty!"

And the preacher said......................................................

"Hello, Darlin!!"

Two men, one old and the other young, are pushing their grocery
carts around a huge supermarket when they collide.

The old man says to the young man, "Sorry about that. I'm looking for
my wife, and I guess I wasn't paying attention to where I was going."

The young man says, "That's OK. It's a coincidence. I'm looking for my
wife, too. I can't find her and I'm getting a little desperate."

The old man says, "Well, maybe we can help each other. What does your
wife look like?"

The young man says, "Well, she is 24 yrs old, tall and slim, with
blonde hair, blue eyes, and she's wearing tight white shorts, a halter
top and no bra. What does your wife look like?"

The old man says, "Doesn't matter - let's look for yours."

Hi Jim:  Not sure how the preacher jokes got on to a page remembering a fallen comrade but the officer at the funeral is not known to me.  I am sure that he was not one of "ours", 1 RCR.  He was probably from CANCON or a Cdn from HQ UNFICYP.  Regards to all, RT
