TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE CANADIAN FORCES PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE. AS WE APPROACH REMEMBERANCE DAY WE TAKE TIME TO REFLECT ON THE COURAGE, HONOUR AND VALOUR OF OUR SERVICEMEN AND WOMEN AND THEIR COMMITMENT TO PROTECT OUR COUNTRY AND THE WORLD. THEIR DEDICATION AND SPIRIT IS SOMETHING ALL CANADIANS CAN BE PROUD OF. I GIVE THANKS TO THE BRAVE SOULS WHO WENT BEFORE US TO PROTECT THE FREEDOM, NOT ONLY OF OUR OWN COUNTRY BUT THE MANY COUNTRIES THEY FOUGHT IN. ALL THE MEMBERS OF THE FORCES SHOULD BE HONOURED EVERY DAY FOR HELPING PROTECT THE VERY LIBERTIES WE TAKE FOR GRANTED. WITHOUT THESE HEROES THE WORLD WOULD BE A MUCH DIFFERENT PLACE, AND ONE I'M NOT SURE I WOULD LIKE.

A ROYAL CANADIAN "NEVER PASSES A FAULT"
|
One of the first pictures shown accredits the picture to the PPCLI mortars when, in fact, the lad standing besides the sandbag wall, is in fact a Royal Canadian.

Remembrance Day
Everybody holds or celebrates Remembrance Day in their own ways and that is as it should be. However at this time of year we have politicians' from Ottawa falling all over each other trying to prove to Canadians that they hold dear the Veterans more then the next MP.
Every one of them are out there using our tax monies throwing flowers at the dead looking for air time and some sound bites, wile proclaiming their undying support for our Veterans, only to totally ignore all the Veterans' issues the very next day when the cameras are gone.
Canada has altogether too many Veterans issues to be dismissed any longer.
There is the Suffield Volunteers', given pennies for the governments actions of spraying them with mustard and nerve gasses even though Canada had signed the treaty making them illegal.
There is the Gagetown Victims of 28 years of toxic chemical spraying with only 1% even offered any compensation package and by no means offered a pension. Ottawa is still only talking about Dioxin wile ignoring the other 26 toxic chemicals that they ordered sprayed.
Then there is Chalk River and US atomic tests only offering pennies for radiation poisoning.
There is the theft of 3.5 billion dollars from our pension fund by Ottawa and the money placed into general accounts for politicians' to spend on their pet projects.
There is the VIP program promised but not delivered.
There is the Claw back of pension monies when any Veteran turns 65.
There is the loss of survivor benefits if a Veteran gets married after he turns 60.
There is the new, "one time payout," of pensions which in most cases will costs the Government less then half what the old version of pension would have as well as have taken care of the Veteran until the event of their death and will have absolutely zero survival benefits.
And still the list goes on.
I have written to my MP demanding that these Veterans issues be addressed and taken care of and that if he/she really wants to show their undying support for the Canadian Veterans, then they should all year round and that by fixing these problems listed here they will be truly showing their respect to the dead who fought for the rights of others and the Veterans now fighting for the rights of our own.
If every Veteran was to write just one letter to their respective MP maybe that would stop kiss ass and start to kick some there by correcting most of these Veterans concerns.
Now that would really be a great Remembrance Day
