George was his name. A good one about George Cook was one day when Bunny Tapp had Gypo Gut and he was forced to use the mens outhouse, something he didn't do because he was afraid he would get something off the toilet. Well that day came!! He ran to the sh@thouse and made it inside when George came along. He then picked up a handful of rocks (small ones) and asked has anyone (in a whisper) seen Sgt Tapp run like he does every day from the Coeure De Alain (5 miles away). With that done, he pitched the rocks at the sh@thouse and they no longer had hit, the door flew open, and Bunny flew out. It must have sounded like a machine gun. lololololololololoooloolol oololololol Well I'll keep the rest of the storie to myself lolololololololololooolool ol

Hi Jim:

The name George Cook came to my mind too when I looked at Rick's photo, but that is Tom Cook.  George Cook and Tom Cook served in 1 RCR during the same years (before 1970).  George was on Snr NCO course with me at the Cdn Guards Depot in Jan/Feb 68 but he left the service soon afterwards.  Tom Cook went to the AB Regt when it started as did Fred Martens (back to camera).  Reg Irvine (at the typewriter) also went to the
AB Regt about 1968.

These pictures of people and places bring back lots of memories.  Rick Rankine has a great stash of photos.

Regards to all, RT

Hugh Conway jogged my memory. It was Tom Cook..how could I forget, I was at his wedding in St Thomas Ontario. Bernie Irvine at the typewriter. I didnt meet Reg until I was at the SSF OTD which became the RCR Battle School in Petawawa in 81. Reg was the DSM at the BSL.
