Sgt G.D. McKillop - Queen's Medal for top Service Rifle Shot (Regular Force)

This past weekend Comd LFAA and I had the honour and privilege to participate in the awards ceremony at subject competition.  I was extremely proud to see a fellow Royal Canadian, (Sgt G.D. McKillop), win the Queens Medal for top Service Rifle Shot (Regular Force).  I know that Sgt McKillop has been very active in pistol competition at the international level; and now the CF's best Regular Force Service Rifle shot for 2007!!

Please pass on this fantastic news!!!

I had the tremendous honour of working as a Range Officer and Trainer for both the NSCC and CFSAC this year, Sgt. McKillop is a real competitor, he showed near the top in the pistol matches as well. It is worth noting that W.O. Gary Deroches, another former family member, now wearing the badge of the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders, won the QM for the top Reserve shot and that him and George McKillop had in fact shared the same C7 rifle & pistol throughout the competition!!!

I wonder if that isn't a first?

Way to go, having fired on both the Pix Le Clerc, and Duke of Edinburough teams in Germany I appricated the endeavour.

Well done boys. I've been to CFSAC (pistol). The training, determination and standard of competition is very, very, very high.

Gary didn't knew your hands were big enough to hold the pistol let alone to fire it competitively!!! Ha!Ha! Grin Well done!!! Kados to the Royals.
