Very well done, gentlemen. This achievement speaks volumes about the level of professionalism, and the respect for tradition in The Regiment today.

Well done lads. When I was posted to the Recruit School in Cornwallis in 1971, the Guards had been rebadged to Royals and CWO John West was the RSM, MWO Boyle, the DSM. We original "Royals", of whom there were only a few, had to turn in our small Regimental malaca canes, {remember them?}, and under the guidance of Mr. Boyle had to learn the use of the pace stick. Not too long after that came the Boyle Pace stick competitions. My neighbour is an old Soldier from the SAS circa 1950"s, and you can bet I'll be printing this out to show him..Pro Patria. By the way the original Royals at that time who valiantly attempted to learn the skill was myself, Bernie Hurley, Ronnie Toombs, Scrawny Bennet, and Bill Cole

HI RICK. THAT ''OLD'' EX-SAS SOLDIER WOULDN'T BE DAVE BAWDEN (think the spellings right) who used to do the security at CFB LONDON, if so tell him I was asking about him. THANX
