Yep..remember the 3.5 rocket launcher well, including the 17 pounder we used in Germany in 1955/57 as our main anti-tank weapon. I think we use to haul the 17 pounder around with the Oxford carrier. Now those who are not familiar with the 17 pounder....... http://www.nasenoviny.com/17pdrGunEN.html

In '62 I was the pl sig of 9 pl C Coy 1RCR, weighed 120lb wet. Carried the 3.5 and the 510set incl spare battery. The 3.5 wasn't heavy, but was cumbersome, the site was on a hinge and made of aluminum, there was no locking mech. or spring to keep the thing out of 'harms way" so it was always snagged on something which bent it. I never saw a round from one even near the target. BUT, who remembers the 3.2, a Canadian launcher. Cheers, Hugh Conway

Hi Hugh and Don Hugh, you would remember some of my old buds from C Coy,John MacEnzie,Bob Jones.I was tpt sgt. C Coy 65 then retired 66.Roger Degobeo was coy comd and Wayne Smith was 2i/c,two good officers.Don your right,as I recall, the #2, hooked up 2 wires from the rocket onto 2 magnetos on side of launcher which created an electric current which in turn when it followed it,s path, fired the rocket.Don,it,s something like that, but it,s been a long time.I know for sure there was one hell of a backblast, and when #1 sqeezed the trigger, #2 made sure his ass was against #1,s Al

Hi Al, I remember firing one of them in 1964 it was during depot or just after going to the Battalion, what a rush firing it for the first time scared the crab out of this, than a young Newfoundlander.

I was in anti-tank 1Rcr in"62 I fired both 3.2 & 3.5 I preferred the 3.5 was quicker to load but I found when fired the rocked moving down the tube forced the tube down was hard to stay on target.B/B was interesting.3.2 was better to keep on target but in a hurry them damn wires were frustrating. In the end give me the "106 recoiless rifle with the "50 cal.sighting.Len
