I joined the RCR in 1958..A snotty nosed army brat..I was recently diagnosed with lung cancer and it was if I was touched, it would spread but, it did bring to bear a thought we all go through and that is, thinking about people who had some kind of bearing on your life.  I went through basic and into A company but, from start to end..I would not trade one experience..With this thought, I want to thank and bring forth a few names of good men and instructors..Bray, Molesworth, Mcniel, Thompson, Burril, Heffler, Atwood and Willis...These are but a few of the names I can think off.  They are all good men and I was propud to serve with them

Regrets about the camcer, I sure hope that they can get it under control. If you had good thoughts for those you remember I bet they have the same for you. All the best.

A gentleman (LOL) that really set things in motion with flare was CWO Hodges -RIP-
I can still vividly remember being on a live fire battle run in Wainwright when what do
my ears pick up...a mad loud shrill of a screem followed by a swoosh as a battle axe
imbeds itself into the target... can you picture it LOL

You are missed...

Jerry LOL yes thats the man himself.

God we sure could use a few more like him right now.  When I was with Nov Co. doing battle runs all day, he'd
come over and have me help set up the run with demo's all night...anyone else I would have balked but not him.
he had a way of making you want to do things and enjoy doing it for all the right reasons.

Yes he was a GOOD man. I used to laugh when we were troopers together and he would start on one of his prfanity laced invectives at the Cypriots, the Cdn Govt, Commies and anyone else who happened to get in his crosshairs.....good times.

I have just joined the Regimental site so I have just answering some of the posts.  The man that impressed me was Sgt. Joe Hennick.  I think because of him and a lot of my friends I joined up with have made me a better man after 30 yrs.  Thanks to him, my friends and the Regiment for keeping me alive and sober (17 Yrs).

Robby.

Best wishe's for a speedy recovery while you battle this Lung Cancer.  The soldiers, you have mentioned indeed left an impression that will last a life time and I am sure you have left your mark on their minds as well.  The bonding we have developed will stand the test of time with the proof of that almost daily.

I am in touch with Royals that I have served with while in Germany, 62 -65 and it's like we never parted ways.  I will be Golfing with one of them Sep 6, 07 here in London.  (life time bonding you bet).

Pro Patria brother.

Hello again. B.J.  Just sent you a post on my post.  You were also one of the people I met during my time with the Regiment that impressed me greatly and helped me get sober even though I haven't seen you guys in years.  Congrats on 31.
