I served with Denis in the 50,s and 60,s and was deeply saddened at hearing of the loss of yet another fine Royal.Denis will be truly missed and my deepest sympathy and condolences to his family. It is so ironic as just to-day ,I was looking at an old photo of us on Sr. N.C.O. course many years ago. Al Meecham

I had the privilage of working directly with Denis for the last five years of his career. He set an example for all of us to follow by his work ethic ,particular his attention to detail. His sense of humour could always brighten up any gathering. The Regiment has lost a good man. Our deepest condolences to Jackie and the Toal girls. Monique and Bill Southwell

Dennis Toal was a good man. I served with him on many occasions. We were on the Small Arms team together in the 60's, in Australia together, and served together at the Leadership Academy in CFB Borden. I'll remember his quiet smile and his dry sense of humour. He has left us too early. My condolences to his family.

The CO of Blackdown Army Cadet Training Centre at CFB Borden, LCol Jim Shields, wishes to send his condolences to the family of Denis Patrick. Denis was his Adjutant, along with Dave Halfkenny as the DCO, from 1995 to 1998. As well, he served with Denis in the First Battalion in the early 1970s. As LCol Shields asserts: Denis was an honest and trustworthy friend and a provider of wise counsel, we will miss him immensely.
