My sincere condolences to Jack’s family.  I served with Jack, when I was a young soldier.

I’ll be in the Kentville area several times over the next week; is any information available regarding memorial services?

I first met Jack when as a young Private I was posted to 3 Mech Cdo in 1974. Other RCR "notables in C/S 11 at that time were  Pl 2 I/C Murray Rutledge (deceased) and Section Commanders "Reg" Irvine and "Knocky" Claremont. Jack worked and played "hard" and kept things interesting. He will be missed by all who knew him and believe that "soldering" should be "fun" as well as a noble profession. Rest in peace Jack, "end of mission".

Sorry to hear that Jack has passed on, my sincere condolences to his family. I will always will remember Jack and Buch Buchanan sitting in the corner of the kitchen laughing at Mike Peace and myself drinking all the wine and port while walking through the doors to the kitchen during a Regt WOs' and Sgts' Mess dinner, (Mike and I were completing our waiter duties, EXTRAS).  Jack made me a Motarman, gave me pride in our 81mm, and respect for what it was capable of doing.  End Of Mission - Good Shooting
