RCR WW2 Reenactment unit

Hi Guys,

I do American Civil War reenacting but I would like to do WW2. My point is, could a bunch of us get together and form an RCR reenactment unit? We would drill using the drill manuals of the time, uniforms and weapons of the time. There are quite a few WW2 units and they reenact the D Day Dodgers (Isay that with respect) as well as groups that do WW2 German units. Mostly they attend events in the States, reenact battles but they also do living history stuff up here. i am thinking that with the wealth of knowledge on the site and with maybe some suppoet fro mthe Regiment we could do it. We would/could attend parades, special events at Wolsley etc. Many of you are fromer Snr NCOs so you just carry on and of course we have George Burrows to tell us what the score was in Italy. What do you think guys? Is it possible? Would we be allowed to do it? Im throwing it out there but I think it would be a great way to keep alive the history of the RCR and educate young people. Plus, reenacting is and should be a family event. let me know what you think.

Hey ,greta idea Robbie.. and by the way , it was the Dodgers themselves that named themselves.. and any history buffs KNOW there is NO DISRESPECT in the name...they did their duty and did it very well. There are those today who believ ,after getting more detailed histories ,that the invasion of Sicily and Italy was a most important part of the victory. That ,said, i do not take anything away from any other areas of battle.. they were all important and top duty and dedication came about everywhere...ranrad
