Hi moe and mike...do i hear you guys right ...there is no pnrs or mors in a inf bn....moe we were tasked to do clearence ops in kuwait ...remember that....we didn't though, but joe parsons {r.i.p} did ....they gave us 24hrs to prep and i had to give lectures on search techniques and that, based on an unit search course that i had done in northern ireland in 1979. talk about vague memories, moe do you remember what i told everyone at the start?

Terry I remember that day i can't remember what you said because I went to the beifings all day but i remember that when i got back that the whole Pl was very keen on every bit of info I had to tell theh what to expect to find an do when we got there.we were to clear a area the size of a small town of every type of mine an booby-trap known an this with 2 Adv Pnr about 8to 9 Basic Pnrs, your knowledge, 2 mine detectors a few prodders ,an a whole lot of luck.No wonder Watson ,Miller an Derorch were making bets on how long we would last those b!@$#@! any ways that god the french  said they were do it  with their Bn of Eng an eguip. But to what you an Ruthvan said to the troops my guess it was( you are all going to die if you don,t pay attion to what you going to tell them),Its was good times, even if some of (thier thinking was right the f---- out of it) the higher ups were on some good drugs that day . Any ways thats all I got take care.

moe. i more or less told them that what the govt wanted us to do was akin to a suicide mission, and that i/we objected to it, we had got through the war,and they the govt wanted to kill us in the peace......i didn't say it as nice as that,as you can guess, the yanks had lost umpteen E.O.D teams as had the brits and the french, teams with more trg and experience than we could muster in 24hrs,but again as you know that order ranked up their with the order to surrender etc we were given as we were about to go to war...dave mac kept a copy of that i think....and i scrouged the ammo from the royal irish rangers my old unit...one mag 30rds for each man and a couple of tracers per man for tgt indication...seems not much has changed for the troops now either,so much for all A.A.R's sent to dnd hq,B.F.N. I agree with you there were a few orders we had to shake our heads at.I guess the only good thing that happen is that the pl got away from being around the CFH for a wk or so an did a dam good job with no one 700 km telling us what to do.
