Hey BJ how are you doing? where are you living now? Jill and I moved to Sudbury a while ago. We spent 11 years in northern manitoba after I retired then I was offered a job with a new mining company as the Safety Co-ordinator. Both the kids work here too, Kerry is a hoist operator and Devon is a contractor. Ker has two children and Devon one, I thought life gets slower the older you get; I'm still waiting for the slow down. Really good to here from you, take care.

Nice to see you're doing well for yourself Dave. I'm still in Gagetown but since you got out I did a 5 year sentence in Quebec.

I'm still in Dave. With Kilo company right now. I was posted to the recruit school in St Jean. Interesting time. Nothing like Cornwallis.

Madeline and I are living in Kingston NS. I got out September 2006. Not working but I have a contract with DND to teach the Naval Boarding Teams hand to Hand. This includes weapons retention and retrieval. It is a blast.
Other than that I just hang around bored.

So Terry, why did you move back to the UK? and where and when is this reunion, I've been quite out of touch with regimental affairs the last few years. Being a grandpa is a lot more enjoyable, the kids hate it when we take them out, we give them back in mach 5 turbo speed.
I have not had any communication with Belfast in about 15 years.
Joe its been such a long time you must forgive me, if I can remember you're a bit on the short side about 3'6 4' tops. Where are you living now? do you play the pipes for a living or only hobby?, got to run take care Dave

I'm sorry to hear that your family went through such a bad time. It took me over three years to de-militaize myself, civilians make no sence its all what they can do for themselves never the team. So terry what do you do for a living or are you retired? ( if my spelling is off, forgive me I'm not wearing my glasses, I'm old now

Hey Dave. Are you thinking about going to Kingston for the reunion? If everybody shows up who is hoping to go, it is going to be  one hell of a party.

Good to see your doing well, brother. Does mining run in your family or was that something you wanted to do when you got out? I am curious as I think you are the only Royal Canadian I know who's career  went into such a field after turning in the rifle for the last time.

Mike.

Hi  Mike glad all is well, I was in Gagtown when I retired and never had any intention of ever going underground, however in Fredtown the best I could possibly do was about $8 and hour. When I was in Yellowknife I got to know some of the brass in the mining world and one phone call from thoses handy pay phones in the bush and 30 days later I'm underground. It took a good three years to adapt. I did 8 or 9 as a driller and an now the number 2 guy on the property. Now that I know about the reunion I'll be there ,I might even take up recreational alcohol again. Talk later

BJ I was in the military in Yellowknife a career counsillor, I sttarted mining in Snow Lake MB, now I'm in Sudbury at a new mine Podolsky mine a new company started FNX mining there doing very well at the price of metals, compared to what it was like 10 years ago. Both the kid work there too My daughter is a hoist operator( brings the men and materials underground, like a major elevator) my son is with a mining contractor as the daily planner. So I guess I now have a mining family.
Terry glad you enjoy your work thats a plus, did you meet all those bigshots? you must drink tea with your baby finger out now.

Randy, Cambrian College in Sudbury does it. It costs about 5k and is a month long, if he is serious contact the college ASAP they only run a few courses a year and there booked solid, the problem with a booming industry all the you fellows want to make 120k a year, a little different when we were youger, when I made Cpl it was 1400 a month and we thought that was big money, enough to stay pissed for two weeks and then start all over again. Hope this helps, have him send me hie resume and I'll give him some tips on what we're looking for.
