Our fallen comrades
« on: April 09, 2007, 10:59:55 AM »

It was with a mixture of sadness and at the same time pride as I heard of the latest casualties in Afghanistan today.  I have just finished watching the Vimy Service on the CBC and the morning has been very emotional. My condolences to the families and freinds of those who have just been lost to us...Pro Patria

Our deepest condolences to the families of the six soliders who so freely gave of the lives so others may live in peace.  Hero's in every sense of the word.  Remembrance Day, November 11, 2008 will take on a new meaning for the families and comrades left behind to ensure that they are not forgotten.  RIP soldier RIP.

I would like to extend my condolences to the families and friends of the 6 brave Canadians who gave their all on Easter Sunday 2007. I realize that there are no words or actions that can possibly console any of these people or their fellow comrades in arms, at this time and rightly so.

Although there is often a need for soldiers and even sometimes conflict, there isn’t now and never has been any sense to war, only the understanding that from time to time there is a necessity for brave men to die for what they believe is right and just. The cost is never cheep and often filled with pain.

The Soldier accepts this knowledge with a shrug as it is his or her chosen way of life but all too often there are wives, husbands, children, family and friends who do not share the same commitment or understanding of neither the cost nor the dedication that a soldier possesses.

It is not enough but will have to do for now to know that they were loved and will be missed by many.

May they rest in Peace, in the arms of the Lord.
