He was a royal with the First Battalion in the late 70's and early 80's. Remustered to something air force. He was a MWO ACS tech last year and is now a military career counselor, Capt working at CFRC Winnipeg. He's celebrated 35 yrs of service and is looking forward to retirement.

How do I know, he interviewed me for my re-enrollment on tuesday.

Heck, ya...i've still got plenty of butt that needs kicking..lol.

Looks like I'll be going back as a Flight Engineer, if the last bit of my medical clears (the MA said he doesn't see why not) and I accept their offer. Career manager is going to offer me 400 Sqn, Tachel CFB Borden.

From RT Walsh

There was a lad named Dogget in C Coy 1 RCR at London during 1972-1974.  I think his first name was, perhaps, John.  The company commander at the time was Maj Jamie Arbuckle and the CSM was WO Vic Dingle.  If this is the same trooper named Dogget he was a Pte in 1972 to 1974.  I think Sgt Ron Eddy was his platoon sergeant and Lt Phil Berthieume was the platoon commander.  I think I remember seeing him again at Downsview, Toronto around 1980.  If anyone is in contact with Capt Dogget please ask him to come up on this site.  Pro Patria.

No sh**t. I was a young whelp back then, no hook, in the bn for less then a year. If it is him, say hello for me and tell him about this site. I'm sure there are lot of guys checking in that he knows. I think he also had a brother in the battalion but i cannot remember his first name.

Good luck, brother. I admire you for your decision to re-up.

Hello Mike Blais and John Bergen:

The pioneer in the photo looks just like the Pte Dogget in Rucksack Company (C Coy) 1 RCR in 1972-73.  The fact that there might have been two brothers in the battalion at that time sort of complicates things!  Maybe our old comrade going the re-up route will be able to give us some more information.

I spoke with Capt Dogget again today. He was in Pioneer's with you, Mike. He remembers you quite well. He also has a brother. They were both in 1 RCR for a while in the early 70's. His brother went to Germany in the mid to late 70's.

I mentioned he should drop by here and he said he would.
