I enjoyed that Jim. I had a very good friend who had a stroke, and it was an extremely difficult period for him. Unfortunately, he was unable to speak, and this was a most frustrating point for him; he always wrote that his mind was perfectly clear, but trying to convey his thoughts was difficult, especially, as he had little use of his hand for writing. However, he too was an old soldier and he new nothing other then to keep moving forward.
Keep the Faith!
Cheers,
Dave

Dear Jim Keep up the good work. I (Jean) had a stroke nine years ago and I know how recovery can be slow. Keep on trying to improve your speech because you can get better. Cor says you look good and recovery is coming along. We will keep you in mind at the reunion in Truro and post all the photos when we return. We were at Jack Obriens BBQin Kingston and talked to Walter Holmes and Padre Coleman who was the padre back in the 60's. A good time was had by all.

Hi Cor and Jean
Thank you for the vote of thanks and I'm waiting for those pic. I had Walter Homes for a Coy Commander and I was his CSM. I remember Padre Coleman like it was yesterday.

Jim, thanks for taking the time to convey your thoughts to all Royals, pass and present. This must have been an emotional and trying experience for you to address all Royals through this media while recovering from your stroke. Jim, you are an inspiration to all Royals, having served and been associated with you for the pass (45) years makes me proud to call you a personal friend, one that I can still look up to and say, I am proud to have served with CWO, Jim Hickson.
Jim, Yvonne, and I wish you a speedy recovery health and happiness to you and Norma.
