Hi Gary,

I remember her when she came to Sigs Platoon, she was wearing combat gear but she still looked good.

Hi Brian
What a small world we live in.
You and I went through basic together in fact traveled back to Montreal for leaves. You lived on the west island.(Beaconsfield) I lived in Lasalle. We were late getting back to base several times.
If memory serves me after returning from Germany the end of 68 we both got out and i started working for Air Canada while you were with Nord Air At the time.
My e mail is gcameron@shaw.ca.

I know that it a wile back but does anyone have pictures from the 66-67 1 RCR stint in Cyprus? I am very interest in out post and base camp pictures. I was at Teco Lime Plant, then the one 600 feet up on a cliff most of the time reachable only by chopper both of these outposts were supplied by base camp called the Pig Farm. Then we were moved to Krenia where I was posted at Ted’s Farm and then into Base Camp where a lot of us sent much of our time digging the mud out of the later to be called Officers swimming pool.

It was a great time in my life I even enjoyed the posting but I didn’t have the foresight to have a camera.

Can anyone help me out here as I try to recapture some of my 1 RCR Histories.

Thanks in advance

Cpl. Kenneth H. Young CD (Ret'd).

Who is she?  Dunno.  For some reason, the picture icon can't be turned on from my end.

But if she's blonde, there's a good chance it's Dinah Christie.  She was with the Tommy Hunter group that visited Cyprus in 1965 and was the highlight of the show.  She also got to play the part of the blond bimbo in a CBC comedy some years later, the name of which escapes me.  Catherine McKinnon was married to Don Whatisname (Charlie Farquarson) and in 1967, Centennial Year, had a major hit on Canadian radio with "Farewell to Nova Scotia."  Hope that helps.

Further to my last, 'whathisname' is Don Herron, a decent actor in his own right who, alas, is best known for playing the bumbling hick on US TV, especially in Hee Haw.

Perhaps this will help.    Miss Canada was travelling with the group and her name is Barbera Kelly from Vancouver, BC.   perhaps a relative (not sure) .    I remember they performed one show at the mess and I went with others and I believe Ernie Wetzel was one of them to Troodos Mtn and picked up a jeep load of snow and placed it in the fireplace during the show.

I was their ( C Coy ) , Trails End , Lime Plant and then to Base at pig farm , looking after Eric Howard . Great memories .

Joe she couldn't have been related to you , she was good looking , with a great body and there was none of that in your family . at not that you displayed .

Keep the good memories coming and have a good one .
