HLVW Ranrad; went up on a supply run that day to do a med check: wicked site, Mount Gola. Troops were living on top of Mount Gola in an old Nazi tunnel system. Friggin' 'road' (if that's what you can call it) wound it's way up the mountain with barely room to pass in some places: other places it was one way only. Face of the rock on the one side and a freakin' long drop on the other. (worse than drving on the mountains in Norway). Troops sometimes would be snowed in for weeks at a time with no chance of supply, though down in the camps it would be almost summer weather. Admired the MSE OP in charge of keeping the road open: thought he was half nuts - he would take his tractor like vehicle & push the snow off the side of the mountain until he was literally sitting on a snow bank pushing more snow off into an abyss

Im glad he was doin it and not me, sounds a bit hairy to say the least.. sounds like tough enough to drive on , let alone be hanging off the snow, doing acrobatics with a machine..lol..ranrad, these are really great pics...
