Hey Dennis, nope, I'm taking the pic. That's Shelly Gero (always been a medic) who's posted to Greenwood now as a Sgt (believe she's going to the sandbox this year). The other is Jim Craig who was a remuster also from 2RCR Pipes & Drums; haven't heard anything from Jim since Chatham closed. Myself (from 1RCR); Jim Craig (from 2RCR); and Chris Kaye (from 2RCR, and now a MWO physician technician, most likely soon to be CWO) were on the same TQ3 'med a' course late '87 / early '88.

Hi Ranrad, passed through Chatham many times going to Bathurst doing recruiting; hospital is gone, mess and ranks gone, officiers building & mess still there; supply building still there, hangers still there; curling club still there; heck the old concrete water tank still there; lot of businesses established along the edge of the old airfield by the main road heading to the old ammo dumps. single & double Q's nw a retirement community; old brick Q's are still up but pretty much dilapitated / boarded up last I seen and should be demoished

Hi Ranrad, Chris Kaye's a great guy; haven't seen him much over the last few years; Use to see him at the medspeils in Greenwood a few years back (good times, not much curling for me though ). Last I heard he was one of the field ambs RSM. Chatham was one of the best postings I ever had - shame they closed it / supposedly they had the longest runway in eastern Canada (remember the government/politicians of the day said they wouldn't close it , yeah right... After the airforce left, I always beleived it was inevitable; then again, I thought the Battalion would never leave London due to the history: another graeat posting)

Hi Gerry: Yes it seems some good bases close and for ?? reasons, it is mostly politics....I recall, that London was home to many retired and influential people. I think most of them have now passed on, so new eras begin..ot necessarily better, just different... society today. On the Miramichi i could step out my door and cross country ski for miles and miles....lots of snow. and not too cold, lots of fish and wildlife..well, there was....ya , its too bad good postings seem to go by the way...i wonder when the next 747 or larger is going to emerg land at Chatham.....it happened at Gimli ,am sure Chatham will get its turn....ranrad
