The Regimental Association Birthday Lunch at Wolseley Barracks on December 21 was attended by more than 100 Royal Canadians. A good time was had by all. Colonel Ed Quinn was present and it was great to see him back in circulation. Cpl Brian Watters of RHQ took some photos as did Robbie Robinson of the Association and we look forward to those pictures being posted on this site.

Here's the photos I took. They're just candid shots, but maybe good enough to recognize a few faces? Each image seems to be posted twice, so you're not seeing double by means of bad eyesight. I'll correct that problem when I get a chance. If anyone would like me to send them a higher quality image by email, just make note of the file name under the larger images and fire your request off to the email address posted on the site. If you just want to grab a web quality image, right click on the image you want and chose the "Save" option from the pop-up menu. Here's where you can click to view the images now: http://www.execulink.com/~thercran/bday/index.htm

Hey Brian.
Thanks for the pictures.
Is Buzz G(n)omes still working..... we served together in 1RCR back during the 100th... anyhow, say hi to him for me and, do me a favour, next time you get the chance, snap a picture of the bar area and post it. Some damn fine times were had... be nice to see what the joint looks like.
Merry Christmas, brother, and thanks for the good work running this site.

Hi Mike, I beleive he's still the RSM of 4RCR.
For the Bar, I take it you're looking for a shot from the (Members Only) side, not the side we had the function on? Brian

You are, in fact, corectomundo!
I wanted to see who was holding the damn thing up! Bwahahahahaaaa... j/K.... ha, to be fair, had I retired in the London area I might have been one of the bar's staunchest pillars.... at least for my two beers per day perhaps per man! ;-)
Anyhow, ask someone to sneak in there one day and snap a couple of photos for me.
Oddly enough, I was working in the mess when the renovations were done for the hundredth. Should anybody have a picture of the bar that existed prior to that, which I thought was infintely better for comeradeship, how bout slinging that one on the site as well.
Speaking of photos, Brian, perhaps a section of the board could be assigned for pictures from members. Lately, I been getting a few from my brothers in arms in reference to the lost photo thread I started a while back. If I had half a clue on how to get them from my computer to here.... Im sure lots of other guys do as well, eh?
Christmas morning, Good Lord, life is good for this ex-Royal.
God Bless you All!
Mike.

www.photobucket.com will allow you to upload photos and link to them there for free. I however have little space to work with on the Association web site, as they are not for profit and thereby signed up for the bargain basement account with a minimal storage space. I've been able to put some low resolution (sized) images there for now, and haven't reached the limit, but it's very close. I don't have the capability, in my knowledge so far, as to create a self uploading script, and with the problems we had with the previous message board being hacked, I don't know that I'd feel safe if I knew how to create a user upload area. For now, I can upload images from members as time permits, but not a whack of them Pick that special moment from your collections, and send it to me at bdwatters@gmail.com with some descriptive text, and I'll see what I can do about getting posted in the photo challenge area. Merry Christmas! Gotta go play with my Daughter Train now. Brian
P.S. For anyone who had sent photo before, I may have missed a few, as I lost some emails when changing my motherboard, as I had to replace a couple hard drives, and not everything got backed up properly. It's clear sailing now though.
