There was a time when 5b and 6 were two different courses... anyhow, those of us who were 5B qualified had to do it over again when ISCC came into existence. This course was unique in the sense it was battalion run and conducted out of CFB Baden, host base of the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment, at the time. All participants were Royal Canadians, many of whom I think you will know, many have become legends...

Nope, thats Abe Doney. Jan Boyd is beside him. Donny Travers is correct, as is John Taylor.

Mike,
I recognize a lot of familiar faces....mostly the Instructors.
2nd row at left looks like Fougere and Newcombe.
First row: Allison, Malin, O'Brien, Skerry, Gallant, Taylor, Beebe are some of the faces I know.
Brings back a lot of memories of 3 RCR in Baden.
Brian.

Hi Mike:
If I may correct you on your synopsis of the course. We were on the last 6A course run under the old system. Remember half-way through when the RSM - Art Tompkins - told us that NDHQ had deemed that we were 6A qualified if we had the CLC? There would be no more 6A courses, but since we were already half-way through and, after all, the training would be so good for us we were going to continue. I've got some pics from that course in the field which I'll post.
Abe

Yes, I remember that... Steve Germain mustered up the nuts to question RSM Thomkin's about it. T'was pretty quiet in the room after that one, eh? I think we were all in shock! sheeeeet!
