Conway,
I knew a couple of Burkes while in the battalion. There was EJ Burke from Newfoundland and the other chap was from Ontario I believe and in Delta Company. Unfortunately i cannot recall his first name. The fellow from Cape Breton was Arthur (Art) Burke and he was in Bravo Company and was released right around 75-6. He was a consumate party animal which was his undoing. Art and Larry Bell used to hang together. Anyway not sure if that is any help, but just thought I would throw a bone your way.

Never in Germany, left the Battalion for 2 Cdo in 76 and stayed there until I remustered late in my career.

I recall a M/CPL Burke during my basic in Cornwallis (1980).....He replaced B.J Maclean after the 3rd or 4th week (or vice-versa)...Then ended up in 1RCR....I remember he had jokes and is bow-legged.
I have a feeling now that the next post will say that was Brian Burke, as that name just popped in my head..not sure though..
