anyone remember him? what a great Sgt. he was back in '89..................(last i saw him) i remember him saying when he came an got us from CFB Cornwallis that if "he caught us in the bar on the ferry, he would kill us and throw our bodies overboard with our files and no one would know the difference!!"

man he scared the shit outta me!!

He retired from the RCR Battle School in Meaford Ont in about 2001. We worked together there and I believe he stuck around there.

Him and Mcpl Mel Bursey came over to Cornhollis to get us in 87 and gave us the same speech...

Hi,

I remember Van Hinke from 2 RCR in 1994.  He also instructed us in Cornwallis in 86. At the time I was in Gagetown he was a reformed alcoholic and ran the life skills course.  Hell of a good guy.

Val Hinke.....last I saw him was in 82 on reforger. Can remember him passed out on a cot slurpin up what he threw up....LOL. Man those were the days, drink till you puke.... and try to figure out what happened the next day.....
