Cheesy   Hello Everyone:   I last posted asking information on my grandfathers regiment-battalion - The 24th Atholl Battalion.  Now its seems it may have been referred to as  Royal Rifles of Canada or Victoria Rifles of Canada.  Would anyone out there have info on this?   I have a picture of my grandfather and 3 other gentlemen in a group all in uniform - my grandfather and one of the other men may be in dress uniform - they are the only 2 where hats are different - feather coming out and up the side - also he seems to have a gold braid draped on one shoulder.   Thanks to all for any help.     Sandi

Hello, The 24th Battalion was formed in Montreal Sept. 15, 1915, the battalion served in France and Flanders with the 5th Canadian Infantry Brigade of the 2nd Divisiion. The battalion history was perpetuated by the Victoria Rifles of Canada. You can view your grand-fathers enlistment papers on The Gov. of Canada archives site. Good luck, Hugh Conway
