To everybody: I do not know if any of you watched a segment last sunday on 20/20 TV.
However if not, it was very interesting and I found it exhhilerating as well as fasinating. They were doing an EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE  on a womans brain. Reason was because she has been totally depressed for the last few years. Had headaches etc. but felt very useless  and not wanting to do anything but lay around and sleep. No energy etc. Main purpose of the surgery was to tryand REMOVE THE DEPRESSION. She was shown on the table during surgery , wide awake, her skull partially opend up with the Neurosurgeon probing each segment of the brain on the left side in an area they called # 25. During the probing she was asked specific questions which is normal of course. However the excitement came when the doctors hooked electrical  diodes to catch the sound of the brain. The brain language, talking to various parts of her body as they operated sounded like MORSE CODE  ON SPEED STREAM. The surgeon explained that that was the language our brains use to issue orders to hands, legs etc.etc.
As the surgeon probed and hit the right spot on the brain, her depression dissapeared, she smiled happily for the first time is several years.. Following that they inserted a battery pace item, similar to heart transplants to stimulate the brain as required.I found it very interesting. If any of you seen , I hope you also enjoyed it.

I smell burning toast... I missed the documentary, George, but I remember that commercial.  Be nice if such a procedure works on post traumatic stress disorder as i feel quite confident that some of our brothers in arms are going to require assistance after the bloodshed in Afghanistan.

You are absolutely right Mike. Although currently they have to open up the skull to do it, I am sure once they refine the operationto a normal status type deal they may be able to use some type of RAY   etc. Hope so anyway.
