Well been 2 months since official retirement - 4 1/2 months since terminal leave began; was starting to feel like a criminal under house arrest being niner's house b**ch;  Shocked LOL ;kept busy with just buying a house (up-keep and minor repairs) and  2 young daughters going / on the verge of puberty - startin' to give the evil eye and act semi-crazy  Angry to the young bucks hangin' around here like vultures about to descend on a carcass! LOL;.... lil' b*****ds  Grin ). Anyway, had a phone call yesterday that a small recruiting detachment MAY be opening here and if i was interested in doing medicals part time / class A starting off. Was looking forward to retirement earlier in the year, but kinda looking forward to being back in uniform part time. Have a beard now, but had to cut the hair when it started to touch the ears; started to drive me ape-s**t - so much for the pony tail LOL; Other than working with reserve pers (great people to work with) I no lilttle in ref to the reserve adm side of the house. Class A would be all that I could do at this time. Is there any 'heartache' if offered a tasking and I turn it down? Niner most likely will be going on her ILQ this jan and most likely have a summer tasking come june or july 07. Much as I would love to be back in uniform, family comes first, especially at their age. Any advice / nuggets of wisdom out there. Discussed with the the other pers on the phone and said class A would be OK, but anyone with any significant amount of time knows 'Great coats on, great coats off...'... On the bus, off the bus....'

you can set it up for the summer mine is the month of August, and I take my leave in July so it works out great because for my job is  mainly in the winter months from Sept to end of May. with class A you are only allowed to work 12 days a month.

Thanx Dave, much appreciated, answers alot for me; be good if I can swing the same thing if I'm offered a class B if we can get a lot of recruiting here. As of now I only would only wish to do some class A.

Well, this old (41) fart has applied for re-enrollment. My docs have been recovered from the archives and are at  recruiting headquarters, wherever that happens to be.

They should have my vfs soon and start the process. I find it hard to believe I'm still young enough to have the better part of a second military career.

On another note, I'm going to be meeting Doug Bittle for coffee in the near future. He's settled not too far from me. Hope he doesn't chew me out...lol. I'm looking forward to it.
