I've modified the text of my previous message.  Leaving the same posted message for so long was a bit much.

Greetings to anyone whom I had the pleasure to cross paths with in the RCR.

Hey, I could of swore you said Irvine was the gold standard of a soldier?  I must have read that wrong.

I guess I knew him different then you, when ever I met him, he was always in a bad mood, and grumbling about something one of the new battalion members were doing?  Smiley

Hello Eric,

Not sure if you remember me but it is Steve McAllister. I was in 3 RCR from 86-91. I was with N Coy then went to P&D. Then I went to AAP, M Coy and then back to P&D. Hope all is well. Drop me a line sometime.

CSM Irvine was a interesting man. I remember a monday morning barracks inspection in Pet when the CSM walked into Oberkirsche's (sp) room. Obie got into a fight at the bar on saturday and got hit in the face with a fish (seriously) and the scales left a huge rash/scar on the side of his face. When the CSM saw Obie's face he asked him what happened, Obie answered and apparently didnt speak up too loudly because Irvine asked him again and in his loudest voice he said " I got hit by a fish Sgt Major" Well CSM Irvine went off on him and I believe he said " You hippie, dippie, motorcycle riding, bulls@%t, @$$hole, how the hell did you get hit with a fish? I didnt hear much more as myself and my roommates were down the hall doubled over laughing.
Ahhh the good old days.
Peace
Dave
