You got Eric Hobbs right, but the one on the left isn't Terry Mugford.  Terry is in another picture that no one has ID'd yet.

Yes…Rolly!  I new that…the old processor has a lot of info to sift through <smile>.  That was a great ex in Suffield…lots of live fire, very good experience, and wonderful memories.

Cheers,

Dave

Hey, I was on that excercise as a pioneer. Steve Ruthven and I were the muscle, Rick Morris the boss and Dick Stafford the dozer driver...

A few stories from that ex:

First night off, and we all went into Medicine Hat – everyone has a few brown-pops to wet the whistle, then we learn that there’s a party in the basement of the tavern.  Off we all trudge, collectively deciding to crash the party…next thing I remember, is everyone trying to get out the door, and back-up the stairs.  Turns out it was a private party for the boys just off the oilrigs…plenty of laughs that night.

Night fire ex: The Brits, have the old Chieftains lumbering around, and said that during the attack, it was all hatches down, so feel free to take some pot shots with small arms, but no 50’s.   Well…I and another guy were manning the GPMG, and we looked at our MCpl (either, Davy LeBlanc or McKaisac?..can’t remember), and he said…fine, they said shot, so shot.  I aimed for the spotlight on the front side, and let it rip….S.O.B….S.O.B, just as we were taught, pull the trigger, and say, S.O.B, then release….   Let’s just say it wasn’t to long after that, that the chatter on the net perked up a bit, and we were ordered to cease-fire on the tanks.  Apparently, I knocked the light out, and poked a few holes in their water cans….but, I’m sure I wasn’t the only one.

I’m in a story mood, perhaps I’ll think of some others…

Roland Walsh on the left, Suffield 78, shot left shoulder and fore arm. I remember Doc Bernardian? found the shoulder wound. There was a beer strike on when we returned so we all went to the brit mess. Knew it was bad when the boys all bought johnnie Walker red and threw the caps away.LAter there was a large meeting of the minds between the brit contingent and the Delta comp. Anyone remember Frank B. throwing the brit off the roof or the friendly get together afterwards. It was so popular the Brits MP's even invited the prisoners to come view the festivities. lol I remember Mike B. bitching because there was no one in arms reach of him.(figure the 7 foot wing span may have helped lol)

anyone remember the apc nite riide in Meaford prior to Suffield. A druken muster parade and a Brit Comp 2 i/c vouching for 1/2 a dozen guys, swearing they were too drunk to walk much less drive and he had their "I" disc's to prove it Sir
